Different Pencil Grips for drawing

As if you were writing (Traditional)

The Conductor or Drumstick Grip 

Good for drawing large and loose 

As if you were holding a Paint Brush 

 

The Overhand Grip - weight on the pencil tip

The pencil is almost parallel to the drawing surface, the side and the tip of the pencil 

are all in contact. Good for heavy shading and strong marks.

The Inverted Grip

The pencil rests on the forefinger and stabilised  with the thumb and lower fingers.   

This grip allows us  to clearly see the marks that we are making.
