This series (scroll through below) of mixed casual art workshops in Melbourne is available to all ages and also to parents / relatives together with kids
Each casual workshop, (usually held on a saturday afternoon in small groups) has a set theme each, and our artists collaborate with individuals and pairs to facilitate the creation of a painting as outlined in each description.
Techniques demonstrated, practiced and learned will include:
- colour mixing and relationships
- acrylic and mixed media, blending, diverse paint application techniques
- composition and design
- follow-on courses for home practice will be offered
NB. Refunds for bookings can be made with 7 days notice before commencement. Cancellation after this point wil incur 50% fees, unless a substitute workshop can be allocated.

Given an introduction to a range of paint application techniques and mixed media
options, participants choose some basic elements and colour relationships, then set
about arranging an abstract composition of their own design.
COST: $120 per individual , $200/pair (two work together on a collaboration), all materials provided.
MATERIALS - all materials will be provided, including a range of references, quality artist paints and impasto medium, canvas board, and necessary equipment. ( BYO snacks and drinks.)
DETAILS - Composition and design is an integral part of every workshop, so each participant will be helped to create their own arrangement, inspired by the first pioneers of abstraction.

DETAILS - During this casual art workshop in Port Melbourne, young and old artists alike can learn a contemporary expressive approach to creating rolling waves and surf in artist quality acrylic paint with tips on drawing water and waves and optimising your own compositional arrangement. Areas covered include colour relationships, textural techniques, glazing techniques, specialty brushes, using value, contrast, light and shade.
